Chefchouen, Morocco

I took an early fast ferry from Tarifa, Spain to Tangiers, Morocco. From Tangiers I woudl be catching a bus to Chefchouen, called the blue town. The bus journey to Chefchouen would take 3 hours.

I arrived in Tangiers thinking I only had a short time before the bus ride, well I was wrong. There was an hour difference between Spain & Morocco!  The lady at the bus station suggested I go for coffee and do a bit of exploring. Which is just what I did.  Here a few photos of Tangiers.

I slept part of the way on the bus ride to Chefchouen. At one point I woke up to the sight of large green mountains, huge as in the Coquihalla. The scenery was gorgeous!!

Periodically  the mountains were dotted with villages & sparkling white houses.  People were walking along the roadway/highway.  There were goats, donkeys & cattle grazing, some with shephards watching over them.

Tarifa, Spain

I arrived in Tarifa, Spain with the plan to catch a morning ferry to Morocco Africa. The weather was extremly warm, with the sun shining and blue skies.  After a short look around I decided to spend a night or two. The beach was not only beautiful but went on for miles and miles! I found the most adorable hotel and checked in.  Then heading for the beach, Playa los conches I snapped many photos!

Playa de Los Lances

At the beach I met a woman from Dublin who told me there was a castle to visit, Castillo de Guzman.

My plan had been to take a long walk on the beach the following day as I had today. However the weather turned, the next day ended up being very cloudy, windy and so different. I did go for a walk along the beach, just not as long as the day before. Later it started raining so I headed to a cafe. In the evening it rained nonstop for some time. I was glad that I had enjoyed the beach and did my sightseeing while the weather was so beautiful!  I loved my short time spent here in Tarifa, such a pretty place! My next destination was via ferry tomorrow, to Chefchaouen Morocco.

Granada, Spain

I took a morning train from Seville to Granada. The scenery was so beautiful, especially the last hour when the train climbed toward the mountains. I have never seen so many olive grooves, they were everywhere. Olive trees covered  the hills as far as the eye could see!
